A. Overview
Lake Maninjau is a volcanic lake, located at an altitude of 461.50 meters above sea level. Its width is 99.5 km ² and has a maximum depth of 495 meters. The existence of Lake Maninjau created a legend "Bujang Nine", which is believed by the community around. Once upon a time there was one family consisted of 10 men, 9 men (bachelor) and a woman named Sani. Good look and behavior of Sani became allure for a young man named Sigiran. In short they then establish a romance. One day they were accused of immorality by the footman.  
To prove it, they jumped into the crater of Mount Review. They swear if they committed any immoral then the mountain will not erupt, and if they do not perform immoral acts then this volcano will erupt. Finally, the volcano erupted and the eruption formed a large crater which is then filled by water and become lakes like now. 

B. Feature 
First President of the Republic of Indonesia Ir. Sukarno in a while visiting Lake Maninjau and amazed by its beauty. To express his admiration for those he wrote a poem which reads "If you eat Arai Pinang, eat with a green betel, do not come to Ranah Minang, if you drop by to Maninjau. Poem written by the first President of this Republic, a representative to describe the beauty of natural scenery of Lake Maninjau exotic.



C. Location 
Maninjau Lake District is located in Tanjung Raya, Agam regency, West Sumatra Province, Indonesia. 

D. Access 
To be able to reach Lake Maninjau, a trip taken by land. There are two alternative paths to get to Lake Maninjau. First, enter the path of the West and two from the East. From West, traveling through the beginning of Padang Pariaman path toward Lubuk cone (Agam district capital), more or less taken for 1 ½ hours. To transport can use public transportation, travel, and car rental. From the east, the journey started from Padang to Bukittinggi and from the town of Bukittinggi journey continues to Lake Maninjau through the winding 44 using public transport, private cars, or car rental. Travel time taken approximately 3 hours. 

E. Accommodation 
In the vicinity of Lake Maninjau many hotels that could be used for a place to stay, ranging from grade to grade jasmine star. In addition to the hotel, there is also a home stay run by the community, which can be used as an alternative for tourists for a place to stay. As for the treatment of hunger, the tourists can choose the preferred place to eat, because many restaurants are available along the edge of the lake with a good menu presents a variety of different cuisine Padang and cuisine from around the world.
