Lore Lindu National Park is one of the most important biodiversity refuge locations on the island of Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi in particular. Lore Lindu National Park also has at least 5 types of squirrel endemic, and at least 55 species of bats, and more than 230 species of birds including hornbills maelo and Sulawesi (hornbill bird or allo).
